Se presenta un software desarrollado con la finalidad de emitir recomendaciones de riego y drenaje en caña de azúcar y otros cultivos, teniendo en cuenta las condiciones climáticas, especificaciones del suelo y características de cada cultivo. El software está basado en los métodos matemáticos de Penman-Monteih para determinar las condiciones de riego y drenaje de los cultivos. Ha sido validado en las provincias de Santiago de Cuba, Villa Clara y La Habana. Sus resultados han sido satisfactorios ya que brindan recomendaciones adecuadas para el riego, el drenaje y los requerimientos de agua en la caña de azúcar. Con estos resultados se emiten recomendaciones más acertadas, mediante el aprovechamiento máximo del uso del agua en los cultivos, así como el riego en el momento exacto y preciso. Este software es el eje fundamental del servicio de recomendaciones que comenzará a prestarse en todas las empresas azucareras y agropecuarias del país.

ABSTRACT

This paper presents a software developed in order to provide recommendations on irrigation and drainage in sugar cane and other crops, taking into account climatic conditions, soil specifications and the characteristics of each crop. The software is based on the mathematical methods of Penman-Monteih to determine the drainage and irrigation conditions of crops. It has been validated in the cities of Santiago de Cuba, Villa Clara and Havana, with satisfactory results. The software provides appropriate recommendations for irrigation, drainage and water requirements for sugar cane. It also contributes to an effective decision-making by specialists in this field. After these results, more accurate recommendations are issued, making a maximum use of water in crops; as well as irrigating the soil at the right moment. This software is the cornerstone of the recommendation service that will be provided in all Cuban Sugar and Agricultural Enterprises this year.
